Hotels
Travelodge Flexible: free to cancel until 12pm on your check-in day. Semi-Flex and the lowest rates can't be refunded.
Premier Inn Flex: free to cancel until 1pm on arrival day. Semi-Flex: until 3 days before.
Booking.com: check the free-cancellation deadline in your confirmation email.
Airbnb: your host's policy applies, and Airbnb's own policy doesn't cover event cancellations. Message your host.
Trains
Advance tickets can't be refunded, but can move to another date for £10 plus any fare difference.
Anytime and Off-Peak tickets can be refunded until 23:59 the day before you travel (fee up to £5).
Coaches
National Express Fully Flexible: refundable 24 hours or more before departure. Standard fares: £5 to change.
Megabus: around £3.75 to change, no refunds.
Your ticket
The refund comes from wherever you bought it, and is usually automatic for cancellations.
You've no legal right to travel or hotel costs unless they were part of a package with the ticket (Citizens Advice).
